We understand that you have a lot going on, choosing where to live, obtaining residency in Spain, which school the children should go to, finding work or where to retire and the endless paperwork because of Brexit. Choosing the best removal company for your move is part of the overall headache for you. Here at Expats Removals, we made the move to Spain in 2016 and since the business inception, we have moved in excess of 1200 clients (15,960 boxes) from England to Spain, we’ve been there and done it!

Why you should choose Expat Removals?

Experience - We have years of experience of moving clients from the UK to Spain, its what we do!. We have moved everything from part removals, full house removals, classic cars and motorbikes, pianos, artworks, TV and media equipment, stage lighting and everything in between. Although we are insured up to €50,000 per truck, our insurance claims are very low because we look after your items and we know how to handle and treat most items that we can carry.

Local Knowledge - Having lived in and worked in Spain, we know the territory. Some towns like Villamartin in Alicante have good access for removals, whereas some smaller towns and “caminos” (rural areas) can be very tricky to deliver to, this is why we have some smaller vans to access these addresses and we include this within the overall budget. Some companies do not check the addresses and then hit you with extra costs.

Customs - Post Brexit Customs clearances are another area in which we excel. Expats Removals were fully operational from the 1st of January 2020 and one of the first off the boat and clearing into Spain, we even made the local news in Bilbao as our truck was amongst the first ones’ off the boat from England. We’ve helped many clients import personal effects into Spain to gain import tax exemptions, using our knowledge of importing and exporting from Spain. On average, we have saved our clients €800.00 per move in taxes.

Regular Service - most of clients ship part removals to Spain. Our groupage service is the most popular. Groupage is where we collect smaller “part loads” and consolidate into one truck. Unlike most other transport companies to Spain, we do not collect and hold until the next available space, which means that your items are delivered usually within 7 days of the collection and not several months later. We also offer direct services where the need to have everything delivered quickly is essential.

Cost of moving to Spain - because we operate larger trucks to Spain on a regular basis, we can keep the costs of moving competitive. We always have spaces available from Spain and the UK and most of these services are direct from the UK. Prices start at 3 cubic metres for €450.00 and we charge €147 per metre cubed thereafter, with discounts available for completely filling the 50 cubic metre truck.

Moving Brokers - here at Expats Removals, we do not advertise or sell our services via website brokers. Invariably (and from direct experience), the removals brokers sell your move to the cheapest bidder. Whilst this might save you a few hundred Euros in transporting to Spain, it could cost you a lot more. We’ve personally witnessed overloaded vans, no packing materials and items going missing. You should be aware that placing your hard earned personal effects into the wrong hands can cause you lots of damage, items being seized at the road side by the Police and massive headaches for you.

Personal Touch - as a small independent business, registered as autonomo “self employed” in Spain, I will personally oversee each and every removal to Spain. I pride myself on full communication from the first engagement to the end, packing your items as if they are my own into the truck, driving the truck throughout the move and delivering in Spain. I only employ team member’s that I have known for years and I do not subcontract any of the moves to another company.
